Palliative care begins with cancer diagnosis and continues throughout treatment, follow-up care and post-treatment management. Our interdisciplinary team is dedicated specifically to treating pain in cancer patients and involves interventional/anaesthesia pain management, rehabilitation medicine, psychiatry and behavioral science, integrative medicine, social work, pharmacy, wound care, radiation oncology, and neurology.

Pain and palliation is an inevitable part of cancer management and significantly affects the patient's quality of life. At Cytecare, we understand Cancer is accompanied by a lot of symptoms and physiological changes in the body, that cause acute discomfort to patients, right from the onset of the disease through the management of it.

It is important that a patient is able to maintain a good quality of life throughout the treatment trajectory, hence pain and palliative care is an integral part of our holistic treatment approach at Cytecare. The Palliative Medicine Team at Cytecare incorporates the principles of palliative care into the treatment of all patients with cancer from the time of diagnosis, not only in the setting of advanced or terminal disease, but work alongside the oncologists and their multidisciplinary team who are treating the cancer, seeking to ease distress while remaining mindful of patient and family needs, values, beliefs, and culture.
